KILIMANJARO CLIMBING
Mt Kilimanjaro is the
highest mountain in Africa and one of the youngest and largest
extinct volcanoes. It's oldest lavas may be only 1 million
years old and the peak of Kibo has probably taken place
within the last couple of Hundred years. It can be climbed
at any period of the year except in April and May during
the long rains. January to March and August to October are
the best periods.
Very Important points to remember - Before you start
mountain climbing !!
Mountain climbing is physically demanding and therefore
regular exercises and physical checkups are equally important.
A training for at least one to two months before climb is
important. We as well offer time for Aclimatization before
the climbing.
1. Medical Check up done by your personal doctor
2.You should always warm up your muscles before any exercising
routine taking about 7-8 minutes regularly before you start
your climbing.
3. Sets and Reps meaning taking single account of exercise
and then you rest for a breather
4. Take frequent walks, which should include some uphill,
down hills and flat service sections taking few minutes.
5. Pole Pole (Swahili word for "go slowly")
6. While trekking, take time to acclimatize.
7. Eat well.
8. Drink lots of Fluids - Tea is considered "Dawa ya Mlima"
(Swahili word for "Medicine of the mountain")
