Falls is located about 65 km away from Nairobi off Thika-Garissa

helper. It is on the foot of this hill that Macmillan entertained
Roosevelt and Churchill when they paid him a courtesy call. In the
hill you will spot birds, buffalo, baboons, and other animals. Picnic
lunch will be served at the hill summit. Return to Nairobi where
the tour ends.

Hell's Gate National Park
It is found approximately 100 kms north of Nairobi. On entering
the park the visitor is faced with a high volcano plug rising out
of the valley floor. This is the Fischer’s tower named
after German naturalist and explorer, GA Fischer, the first European
to document it in 1885. Around the base rock hyrax appear quite
unperturbed by visitors. The backdrop of the tower is the dramatic
cliff of columnar basalt which forms the walls of the gorge. At
the southern end of the park stands the central tower “Embarta”
or the “horse”. They towers were formed by semi-molten
rock being forced through a fissure, cooling of molten lava. A black
glass-like rock can be found everywhere, formed by the rapid cooling
of molten lava. While in the park; -Do not approach too close to
game. Buffalo are particuraly dangerous. -Drive to the
picnic areas, park the car and use your binoculars. -Do not drive
off roads as this will cause soil erosion. Upon arrival spend a
few minutes in the information centre. Leave and lookout for the
klipspringer, spectacular view of the main cliff with Fischer’s
tower in the foreground. Schalow’s wheatear perched on the
rocks and augur buzzard right on top of the tower, rare chanler’s
mountain reedbuck with their forward curving horns and plenty of
common animals. Other places of interest are the obsidian caves
and the track. Cliffs are whitened by the droppings of the numerous
Ruppel’s Griffon vultures seen afternoon flying in the air.
